Educational Scholarship
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Iota Sigma Chapter, is an organization of women bound
together in thought and effort toward common goals. One of our goals is to motivate youth toward greater achievement-academically, socially and vocationally. It is in the spirit of service and through our
commitment to education that we are awarding an Educational Scholarship to a deserving high school
senior who will be enrolling at an accredited college or university for the upcoming fall semester. All
information is confidential and will only be used to determine Scholarship eligibility and need.

Mrs. Evelyn Allen - One of the great community activist in the metropolitan Washington area
Mrs. Gwendolyn C. Moore - Recognized as an outstanding educator
Mrs. Sarah Horne - Known in the world for her excellence in cosmetology
Mrs. Gwendolyn Briley Strand - Actress who is known for her portrayals of Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, and Rosa Parks. She appears in the NBC’s nighttime drama, now is syndication “Homicide: Life On The Streets” as Mrs. Watson.
Dr. Mynora J. Bryant – Immediate Past International Grand Basileus; First Grand Anti-Basileus; Past International Philo Coordinator; Past Northeast Region Syntaktes.
As a community activist Dr. Brynt provided service to many organizations. Dr. Bryant was inducted into this great sisterhood at Alpha Phi chapter while attending Howard University. She has served in numerous responsible positions at the national and regional levels since becoming a graduate member.
